How is it installed?

We would drill numerous holes on each elevation of each external wall outside the property. Thermabead is blown by a long hose from one of our specially equipped vans through the holes into each of the property's elevations. Once all walls have been treated, the holes are filled, and the site is cleaned.

How long does it take to be installed?

If your cavity walls do not have any insulation present in the cavities, then it could take just one day to insulate each external wall. If the cavities do have insulation, it could take up to 2 days for our teams to extract the insulation and refill the cavities with the correct insulation.

Is the cavity wall supposed to be insulated?

One of the reasons why properties were starting to be built with a cavity was for the purpose of the property being ventilated. One issue in the past has been that cavities have been insulated with rockwool or foam, materials that were blocking the cavity. This led to no ventilation which resulted in properties having issues with damp. This is the reason why we would extract the old insulation and install Thermabead as Thermabead allows ventilation to flow in the cavities.
