Why is the funding free? Is it a scam?

The government has put funding in place to designed to tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions across the UK meaning lots of eligible households can upgrade their heating systems completely free!

Do I need to be on benefits to be eligible?
No. One myth about the ECO4 Scheme is that you need to be on benefits to be eligible, however, there are many ways someone could qualify via the LA FLEX extension of the scheme.

What is the ECO4 Scheme?
Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) is a Government energy efficiency scheme that aims to reduce carbon emissions and make energy affordable for all.
The ECO4 scheme focuses on supporting low income and vulnerable households. The scheme will improve the least energy efficient homes helping to meet the Government's fuel poverty and net zero commitments.
It is a Government scheme led by the private sector - not the council. Under the scheme, qualifying homeowners and private tenants may be entitled to energy efficiency improvements to their homes for free.
What happens next if I'm eligible for funding?
If you are eligible for one of the funding schemes, the next step would be to book in your free survey, to ensure that your home/property is safe, and able, for the installation team to undertake the work.
How long does a survey take?
A home survey usually takes no longer than 2 hours, however, this can change based on the size of your property, or if the surveyor has any questions about the property, or needs to assess other things related to the property on the day.
I'm not eligible. Can you still help?
If you're sadly not eligible to access the free funding, we could provide you with a heavily discounted quotation for any private work needed. Our installations partners can provide amazing quotations for work such as the purchase and installation of a new boiler, solar panels and windows.

I live in a Council house. Can I still apply?
If you live in a Council house, sadly we are unable to help qualify you for the scheme, however, we instruct people to contact their council to discuss what options they have.
We are able to help homeowners and private tenants access the funding schemes.
I have a health condition. Will I qualify?

I have been asked to make a financial contribution. Is that right?
Some schemes in the past may have needed a financial contribution, however, schemes such as ECO4 and GBIS do not need you to make any payment for the new heating system or install - it is all covered 100% through Government funding. We would never take a penny off you for any work we do.
Can landlords access this funding?
